What to pay attention to when designing and printing catalogs and other printed materials?

Here are four key aspects that SkanTree® pays special attention to when designing and printing catalogs and other printed materials:

Clear structure and layout of content

It is worthwhile for information to be clear and well organized. For technical catalogs, visible headings, tables of contents and indexes work well. A well-designed structure makes it easier for customers to find the products they are interested in or the technical data of the item they are looking for.

Selection of paper and printing techniques

The choice of paper and printing techniques affect the overall perception of the catalog. The use of high-quality paper with appropriate finishes increases the perceptual value of the material, while printing techniques such as embossing or varnishing can add prestige to catalogs.

Quality and consistency of graphics

Graphics are a key element of printed materials, especially when they depict complex products or technical specifications. We make sure that photos, diagrams and technical illustrations are of high quality, properly scaled and consistent with the company’s branding.

Functionality and durability

Particularly for technical catalogs with a large number of pages, care should be taken to ensure a durable binding that can withstand frequent use under a variety of conditions. Functional additions, such as indexing tabs or perforations, can make the catalog easier to use and faster to find the information it contains.

How the step-by-step process of creating catalogs and brochures with SkanTree® looks like

FAQ

Yes, we offer support in content creation and editing, but to a limited extent.

Turnaround time depends on the complexity of the project and the number of pages. Typically, the creation process takes several to even several weeks for extensive catalogs, but we adjust the schedule to your needs.

To begin work, we need to understand what function the document will serve, and who the audience will be and how it will be used. Then we need to receive content, product specifications, photos, diagrams, graphics, company logos, and style guidelines and preferences. If you need we can also take photos of the products or other needed graphics on our own.

Yes, we allow you to make changes at any stage of design. We work with the client on an ongoing basis to ensure that the catalog (brochure) meets their expectations.

Usually the cost of one page of a larger catalog or brochure ranges from 70 to 120 PLN net per page. But please remember that this is only an estimate cost. The final cost depends on the complexity of the project, the number of pages, the number of graphics needed for preparation. A large impact on the number of hours needed to complete the project has the quality of the materials you have prepared and whether it is a new project or an update to an existing one (e.g. price update). After an initial consultation, we will prepare an individual quote. We will determine the estimated number of hours of a graphic designer needed to complete the project.

We offer various forms of finishing, including lamination, varnishing, glued, stitched or spiral binding, as well as finishing such as embossing or hot-stamping. We cooperate with proven printing houses that are able to print almost any design.
